Clean up!

Here are a few before and after pictures.  Several weeks ago, I rented a dumpster.  John and my brother Mark cleared out trash and opened windows.  For those of you that have been in the house before clean up, I'm sure you'll be stunned at the transformation!  This is probably the first time in years that someone could actually walk through the house.

 Back room.

Middle room in the back.

Looking through the 2 back rooms from the front living area.

 Front living room.

From the front door, looking into the foyer and left "best" room.  See the before picture above?  You could hardly get into the house!

The front "best" or  "fancy" room.  We'll do our best to keep this room as original as possible!  The blue color and decorative wainscoting are amazing.

Upstairs, John stands beside the front window.

The house is inspected . . .

Inspections - all good.  Soil tested great for septic, only old termite damage, no current termites or other pests.  And the house inspector spoke to John for good while on the phone.  All good.  He had the same concerns as another builder we had look at the house, dig out the front to get the foundation sill off the ground, and enclose the foundation.  He recommended minimal invasive restoration.  Roof is in great shape.  What good news!

Jana Flury goes into the house and we see the interior for the first time . . .

We contacted a real estate agent, Jana Flury (the best, BTW).  She ventured into the house and snapped some pictures for us.  Wow!

What a mess!

We are introduced to the Colley House . . .

John and I have admired this house in North Georgia for a long time.  Last November 2010, we stopped, pulled into the driveway, and took this picture.
In May, 2011, we found out that it was for sale! We inquired immediately, and made a trip to see the house in June.
